You can catch up on all the latest at the Brush Control Symposium slated for Thursday, April 25 in Abilene, Texas at the Taylor County Expo Center in the Big Country Hall.
For those pre-registered, cost for the symposium is just $10, which includes a luncheon and also a copy of the symposium proceedings. Those planning on attending can pay by cash or check at the door.
Late registration cost will be $20 and includes the meal and symposium proceedings.
This year's symposium theme is: "Brush Control: What's New Since2002?" It will showcase what advancements have been made during the last decade. University representatives, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, and chemical company representatives will highlight new technology and innovations within the field.
Event hosts include: Dow AgroSciences, DuPont, the Texas Section Society for Range Management, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, Grazing Lands Conservation Initiative, Angelo State University, and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.
Key topics will include new rangeland herbicides developed by both Dow AgroSciences and DuPont.
In addition, the symposium will include presentations on drift control, new acid-based formulations, biological control of unwanted brush, new regulations for herbicide use, prescribed burning for brush control and range improvement, and a new website based, smart phone technology for rangeland planning.

In addition, registration forms will be available at your local USDA Service Centers in the NRCS office.
Continuing education units for those with a Private Applicator's License will be offered.

Exhibit booth spaces can be reserved for the one-day symposium for $100.
