The Michigan Beef Industry Commission (MBIC) is pleased to announce it has selected George Quackenbush as its new Executive Director.  Quackenbush first joined MBIC in 2005.  He became Director of Promotions in 2008 and has since overseen MBIC's promotion and education work in the retail and foodservice channels.

Quackenbush brings a well-rounded understanding of the beef industry to the executive position.  He was raised on a cattle backgrounding and general livestock operation near Rose City.  After earning a degree in Animal Science at Michigan State University, he spent a year as Assistant Director of Quality Assurance at Malcolm Meats in Northwood, Ohio.  As Director of Promotions, he has worked with beef suppliers, retailers, and chefs and forged partnerships that have resulted in award winning programs.
