Baylor County Ag Appreciation Day Shines April 9

A large crowd is expected for this 23rd annual event which includes a great program and many agricultural exhibits at Seymour, Texas.

The annual Baylor County Agriculture Appreciation Day will roll Tuesday, April 9, at Seymour, Texas.

This daylong event will be held at the Baylor County Ag-Pavilion at Seymour.

Exhibitors booths will open at 9 a.m. and remain in place through 3 p.m.

Nathan Haile, agronomist with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service in Weatherford, Texas will be this year's keynote speaker for the noon luncheon in the pavilion. Haile will address the timely topic of "Soil Health."

The noon meal is free and will be some great barbecue provided by Smokey Bros. restaurant of Seymour that will be cooking the meat.

Seymour Hospital Health Fair once again will be on hand and blood draws will begin at 7 a.m., and those that would like to give can donate blood later in the morning or throughout the day.

There are a limited number of booths still available at a cost of $60 each. Booths will be assigned upon receipt of payment.  Organizers request that all non-profit organizations locate a sponsor to cover their booth charge. Checks or money orders should be made payable to: Baylor County Ag Day Fund, and sent to: Baylor County Ag Day Fund, 400 E. Ingram Suite B, Seymour, Texas 76380.

John Studer and Donald Coltharp are co-chairmen of the ag day. To add to the fun, various door prizes will be drawn throughout the day during the Baylor County Ag Appreciation Day.

Carrington says a crowd of 500 to 700 people are expected for the agriculture day celebration.
