2008 Wisconsin Farm Technology Days will begin with a unique Badger State kick-off – a parade featuring the University of Wisconsin-Madison marching band.
The state’s largest outdoor farm expo takes place July 15-17 at Country Aire Farms, 1440 Lamers-Clancy Road, south of Greenleaf. The three-day event showcases the latest improvements in production agriculture, including practical applications of recent research findings and technological developments.
“The show officially starts on Tuesday, July 15, with an 8:30 a.m. ribbon cutting at Gate 3 of the Tent City,” notes Judy Knudsen, Brown County UW-Extension department head. “Then the Badger Band will lead a procession of host farm family members, community leaders and elected officials to the site of the opening ceremony.” The 9:00 a.m. ceremony takes place in the Family Living Tent, located on the corner of Wisconsin Avenue and 6th Street South in the show’s 65-acre Tent City.
Opening ceremony speakers include Secretary Rod Nilsestuen, Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection; Tom Hinz, Brown County Executive; and Chancellor David Wilson, UW Colleges and UW-Extension.
