The Pork Checkoff is presenting Producers Opportunity for Revenue and Knowledge Academy on Wednesday, June 7 at the Downtown Marriott in Des Moines, Iowa.
"Pork producers who attend PORK Academy can stay informed on many of the pork industry challenges and receive information to improve production techniques," says Leon Sheets, chairman of the Pork Checkoff's Producer Services Committee and a pork producer from Ionia, Iowa. "As a pork producer, access to accurate and timely information is vital to my operation and the Pork Checkoff is helping provide that through educational events like PORK Academy."
PORK Academy is a series of in-depth seminars designed specifically to meet the need for pork producers to remain competitive in today's rapidly changing world. The morning sessions of PORK Academy will include presentations on swine health, reproduction and marketing. Afternoon presentations include animal care and behavior, business and financial management, swine nutrition, environmental management, production and management systems and human resource management.
The registration fee is $125 before the event and $150 for on-site registration. The registration fee includes lunch and materials, including a CD-ROM of the PORK Academy proceedings.
