2008 Fungicide Application Requirements

Continued research helps ensure maximized yield advantages.

The 2008 requirements for application of Headline fungicide on corn have been announced by BASF.

"As the most researched fungicide on the market, we’re always looking at what we can do to help aerial applicators and growers get the most from each application," says Dr. Gary Fellows, BASF technical manager. "With every extra bushel of corn needed to meet rising demand, proper application is important to maximizing yield."

The best time to apply Headline to corn is from full tassel to blister. After corn has reached full tassel Headline can be used with a adjuvant. Before full tassel, it is recommended not to be used with adjuvant. Trials from 2007 showed 12 to 16 bushel increase per acre with use of Headline.
