A bill that allocates $1 million in federal stimulus money for installation of blender pumps in South Dakota has passed the legislature and is on its way to the governor, who is expected to sign it.
Gas stations will be eligible to receive $10,000 per pump they install.
"This is great news for South Dakota's farmers and the consumer as well. It'll create more of a market for ethanol, while giving consumers a choice at the pump to use higher blends of ethanol in their vehicles," says Rep. Mitch Fargen, D-Flandreau.
The money will only be available from April 1 to May 28.
