    A release this week from the news department at the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences at The Ohio State University informed me that the nation's Cooperative Extension Service is celebrating 100 years of existence. Extension formally began with passage of the Smith-Lever Act in 1914. The act provided cooperative funding from the federal, state and county levels for the outreach activities.
