John Deere gets top billing, but there will be tractors of all colors for visitors to see at the Crawford Antique Farm Equipment Show June 16, 17 & 18, 2011 at the Crawford County Fairgrounds located in Bucyrus.

The Crawford Antique Farm Machinery Association will be hosting the 11th Annual Crawford Antique Farm Equipment Show June 16, 17 & 18, 2011 at the Crawford County Fairgrounds located in Bucyrus. "Our Association is thrilled to host this annual event. As in the past, we expect a large variety of vintage farm tractors and equipment of every conceivable brand brought to the show for display. There will also be numerous attractions relating to antique farm machinery that will captivate the interest of the entire family," says Earl Smith, president of the Crawford Antique Farm Machinery Association.
The farm show will start with a community appreciation night beginning at 6:00 PM on Wednesday June 16 at the Youth Building located on the Crawford County Fairgrounds. Friday June 17 will honor military veterans and will be topped off with a pork chop supper at the Youth Building starting at 4:30 PM. The entire community is invited for this scrumptious meal. Saturday June 18 is designated family day where multiply activities will be offered for children, including free ice cream. The tractor pulls are slated for Saturday, including: antique tractors, garden tractors and pick-up trucks. There will be an antique tractor parade beginning at 2:00 PM through downtown Bucyrus. A Flea Market runs throughout the event. And a kiddy tractor pull will be held all three days for children three years of age through ten years of age.
This year's event will feature the highly visible John Deere tractors and field equipment. John Deere began building farm machinery in 1837 through the invention of the cast-steel plow
2011 Crawford Farm Show designed to replace the wood and iron versions. John Deere launched into the field-tractor industry with the purchase of The Waterloo Gasoline Engine Company in 1918, builders of Waterloo Boy Tractor. This modest start was the springboard that launched John Deere's successful growth into a worldwide leader in the manufacturing of farm and industrial equipment.
The Fuller & Johnson engine will also be highlighted at this year's show. This company began building horse-drawn implements under the name Billing & Carmen in 1840. Their first engine was manufactured in 1902, an oil-cooled model. The firm's most popular model was the air-cooled farm pump engine first built in 1909. Over the years, Fuller & Johnson built 57,000 air-cooled farm pump engines until they ceased operations in 1932.
The Crawford Antique Farm Equipment Show offers an educational and fun-filled experience during the three-day event.
