    I don’t like to be a name-dropper. But Obama is big today – especially today with the presidential inauguration going on.   I recently received e-mail invitations from both Barack and Michelle – you know, the folks moving into the White House this week. Both e-mails opened with a warm personal greeting – “Friend”.   I guess that if I’m his friend, we must be on a first-name basis.     This week, I asked several farmers if they’ve been forward-pricing or contracting gasoline, diesel fuel and nitrogen fertilizer yet this year. And their answers generally were “No.”   One told me that gasoline prices are up because Uncle Sam is busy refilling his strategic petroleum reserve. And he’s right.
