Paula Mohr, editor of The Farmer in Minnesota, has more than three decades of experience covering state and national agricultural issues.
Mohr joined the magazine in 2004 after covering the U.S. dairy industry for nearly 20 years for Farm Journal’s Dairy Today. Prior to that, she worked briefly in Milwaukee, Wis., for Bader Rutter and Associates in public relations, and as associate editor/reporter/photographer for the Cadillac Evening News, Cadillac, Mich.
She is an award-winning writer of the American Agricultural Editor’s Association, North American Agricultural Journalists and the Livestock Publications Council. She is an AAEA Master Writing Award recipient.
Since joining The Farmer, Mohr has received recognition for her agriculture and conservation coverage from the Southeast Minnesota Agriculture Alliance in 2005 and the Minnesota Chapter of the Soil and Water Conservation Society in 2007.
Mohr is a Class VI member of the Minnesota Agriculture and Rural Leadership program. MARL is an elite professional development program that hones the skills of state ag and rural leaders. The 18-month program features nine in-state seminars, a national study tour to Washington, D.C., and an international study tour. Class VI concludes in March 2012.
Mohr grew up on a Michigan dairy farm in the Thumb area. She is a graduate of Michigan State University and holds a B.S. degree in agriculture and natural resources communications. She and her husband, Joel Springer, live near Anoka. They have three children.
