I got this call the other day from … Well, let’s just say it was a friend of a friend.
He said his friend was mad that I quoted someone he doesn’t like in a couple articles one year ago.
My first question: “A year ago? You’re kidding.”
My second question: “Why didn’t he write a letter to the editor and send it to me? You know, we love to get letters from our readers and we’d love to run every one of them.”
This may not be a democracy but I’d like to think this ship I’m steering is at least one where the sailors (the readers) can stage regular boxing matches on the deck (an open exchange of ideas and complaints).
I’m serious. I want to hear from you, the reader.
If we were to get so much paper mail that I couldn’t publish it all in the pages of Beef Producer, I assure you we can get the letters posted here on the Beef Producer web page.
Further, the web page makes it easier for you than writing a paper letter. You can comment on my blog or respond to other stories right here.
So please, please write letters to me. If you’re worried about form and content, show it to your spouse and a few friends before you send it. Ask them if they think it’s valid and if it makes sense.
Or just send it to me by email or snail mail.
My addresses are elsewhere on the website and in the magazine but just to be sure you know how to reach me:
Alan Newport, 10200 N. LA Cann Road, Newkirk, Okla. 74647

Write to me if you have something to say … please.
