Prairie Farmer Facebook Fan Page Turns One Year Old

Prairie Farmer's Facebook community has been growing. Thank you for the comments and feedback.

Sometime this week, Prairie Farmer’s Facebook page should hit 700 fans (698 as of press time). Not bad for a project we started just over a year ago.

We started the project to help bring you even more information in between issues. Also, we added a lot of content to the Prairie Farmer website (www.prairiefarmer.com) and we wanted to promote it in the social media realm.

We’ve also been successful in what I consider the most important goal, engaging more frequently with our readers. I’m a big fan of the informal feedback the site yields. Holly and I check it daily. Well, probably more like 20 times a day. I don’t know about her, but I’m constantly checking back to see what you thought about something I added to the wall.

Before adding this face to the Prairie Farmer image, feedback was limited to sending us an e-mail, calling, commenting on a blog or writing a letter. All are great means of communication, but they lack the sort of friendly community experience that the Facebook fan page provides.

If you’re a fan, thank you. We’ve enjoyed posting daily updates over the past year. If you’re not, what are you waiting for? Here’s a direct link (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Prairie-Farmer/142240394349) or you can hop on Facebook and search for Prairie Farmer. Join the fun, we want your input.
