We’ve all been bludgeoned with presidential campaign propaganda almost to the point of senselessness. We’ve heard about nearly every mistake that any of the candidates for president and vice president has ever made – repeatedly.
Now, except for checking the weather forecast, I just leave the room when the television comes on. I really don’t want to know any more. My mind’s made up!
“Whoa!” you say. “It ain’t over til it’s over!”
My contention is that it is over. And I’m entrusting the results to God’s providence.
What’s most important
Forget that “presidential look”. Forget their positions on homosexuality, abortion, the war, tax relief, even the economy. And by all means, ditch the attitude whether the candidate was a “Bush hater” or “Bush supporter”. The two most defining characteristics of our next president are:
1) Does he have experience “under fire”? The “metal” of our past two presidents was tested within their first six months on the job by international tyrants.
2) What evidence is there that he exercises good judgment about the company he keeps? That’ll determine who has his ear while in the White House.
