It's Amazing the Things You Find by Accident

It was just a quiz, but along came the Survival Seed Bank for my crisis garden

Published on: February 26, 2010
A friend of my insisted I needed to check out Fox News windbag Glenn Beck's quiz that would tell me once and for all what my political beliefs are.

For the record, there really isn't much doubt in my mind about my stand on most anything, but I dutifully logged on so I could share how I did on the quiz.

But I never got further than the big banner that popped up immediately offering me a "New Survival Seed Bank" that would let me plant a "Full Acre Crisis Garden."

For the bargain price of $149, I can buy enough non-hybrid, God-blessed, open-pollinated seed to plant a full acre of food to sustain my family when the grocery store shelves are empty. They come in a "virtually indestructible" seed bank that I can bury for up to 20 years and still have viable seed.

I get 22 varieties of vegetables that can grown anywhere because they are non-hybrid and can assimilate mineral and trace elements from the soil in a way that "man-made plants just don't seem to have."

The really sad thing about this laughable "buyer beware" scam is there are people who will fall for it. Glenn Beck has probably already buried his canister.
