A must-read, point-by-point disassembly of global warming junk science is important to beef producers.

I have slowly and steadily over recent years become a strong and vocal opponent of global warming, or Catastrophic Anthropogenic Global Warming or whatever name the culpable individuals have pasted on their hoax these days.

You see, I believe in sound science and this ain't it.

The evidence against the concept (it is not a theory) is stronger today than the day it was first conceived and most of the facts against come from data these people have collected and manipulated.

We in the beef production industry sometimes think of the global warming issue neutrally or perhaps as something which might one day pay us for maintaining grassland. Yet I'm ultimately concerned about the intent in such payments to drain the businesses of the first world of resources and transfer them somewhere else, anywhere else. Moreover I am see this as another power grab by government hacks and those who see themselves as smarter than everyone else. Such are people truly to fear and are definitely not anyone I want to see gain power. These things strengthen my resolve to fight against the global warming bugaboo.

First, let me reiterate that the CAGW concept was never more than a weak hypothesis, scientifically speaking, and it never achieved the status of a theory. Yet those scientists who massaged the data to get attention and funding and then men like Al Gore who pushed the idea for personal gain, as well as third-world governments who seek to get rich from after-effects such as "carbon taxes," plus the alarmist national media, latched onto global warming as if it were one of the rare scientific theories that is so tried and true it is considered "law," such as the "laws of physics."

Moreover, there is evidentiary item upon evidentiary item proving that man-caused global warming was perpetrated as a lie. I have tracked as many of these well-documented incidents as time allows over the years and hence my growing opposition and disdain.

This week, however, I ran across a really great collection of facts and analysis about the global warming fiasco, which was done by Burt Rutan, the California aerospace engineer who some of you may remember designed the record-breaking Voyager aircraft, which was the first plane to fly around the world without stopping or refueling.

Rutan put together an extensive PowerPoint on the subject and has spoken on the fallacies of human-caused global warming on numerous occasions. Whatever you believe about this topic, you owe it to yourself to read his presentation thoroughly to help you make a realistic decision.

Among the things I had not seen before but which were very important is this fact: There were never 2,500 scientists on the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

who agreed with the global warming concept. It was only a handful but there were 31,000 international scientists who since signed a petition that said, "There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth’s atmosphere and disruption of the Earth’s climate."

Rutan takes to task the five-point action plan of the CAGW believers and unravels it using the real and complete data which was manipulated to manufacture the "crisis."

Point 1 said recent human burning of fossil fuels suddenly and dangerously increased CO2 beyond previous levels. The data says we have increased it but not in any measure that would create problems or even change

Point 2 said human CO2 emissions causes greenhouse warming. Facts say not true.

Point 3 said dangerous, sudden global warming occurred the last 50 years. Facts say we are near prehistoric lows in the life of the planet.

Point 4 said the current temperature is too hot & further warming is bad. Facts say were are actually in a cool period in prehistorical, earth-life terms and that carbon dioxide does not cause warming, it follows warming.

Point 5 said it is more difficult to adapt to climate changes than to attempt to control them. Rutan shows example after example where human innovation adapts more readily to change if environmental and market forces are not manipulated with "central planning."

I'll leave you with a Thomas Paine quote from Rutan's presentation: "It is error only, and not truth, that shrinks from inquiry."
