Flooding Hits Much of Kansas After Six Inches of Rain

More rain is in the forecast; flooding will get worse

The TV weatherman tells us that the widespread flooding across 20 Kansas counties isn't "serious." So far, it is "only agricultural land" that is affected.

It drives me crazy when they say that. If even ONE downtown business was flooded, it would be major. But because it is a farm business that is inundated, it's not serious.

The jury is still out on how many acres of wheat are now standing in water but the next 48 hours, when even more rain is forecast could bring widespread river flooding. Keep checking www.kansasfarmer.com and this blog. I will post updates frequently as the situation develops.
