Our county fair starts today, kicking off a week of showing, sweating and overall good times. (I'm trying to be optimistic, given forecasted temps of 102 for days on end. It will be fun. Right?)
At any rate, the annual Fulton County Fair Talent Show is tonight and in honor of that, I share this little video. Maybe you saw it last year or back in 2010 when they first performed. It's my two oldest kids, singing and dancing to "I Love You a Bushel and Peck" when they were just 5 and 7. I laugh until I cry, every time I watch it. And I've heard from more than a few of you who watched it, only to have your spouse in the next room wonder what in the world you're watching! Jenna will be performing again tonight, reviving "It's a Hard Knock Life" from our annual Ellisville play with a group of neighborhood girls. I don't know if they'll win, but they've sure had a good time practicing and hanging out together.
So today, if you're feeling hot and tired and a little cranky and maybe a little pessimistic, give this five minutes of your time. It won't make it rain, but I think it might cheer you up, just a bit.
