Time for the Farm Progress Show…drop by the Hospitality Tent and say hello!

Published on: August 25, 2013

Hey, it's a beautiful week to head to the Farm Progress Show!

Wait. What?

It's some sort of irony, isn't it? Can't buy the heat units we need all summer, to the point that our field demo corn isn't even mature enough to harvest. And now during the week of the show, temperatures are forecasted to soar to the mid-90s. I don't even want to think about the heat index.

The good news: there are more than a dozen air conditioned exhibit tents. And lots of water.

And it's not like any of us will be in the field yet, so why not come to the Farm Progress Show?!

My job at the show this year is official show photographer so if you see a woman wandering around, heavy-laden with photography equipment…that's me. Maybe with a slight slope to the left, from carrying a camera bag. And dusty. Definitely dusty.

Flags, farms and equipment. God bless America.
Flags, farms and equipment. God bless America.

But the information? Not so dusty at all. Our collective heads will be spinning by Thursday afternoon but only in the best way. Three days of new equipment, new products, new ideas, new technology and catching up with old friends. It promises much fun.

So if you're coming to the show, stop by and say hello. I'll be in the Hospitality Tent from 2-4 p.m. each day and I would love to catch up with you. In fact, many of our other editors will be there, too. Here's our schedule:

You can keep up with what's going on at the show by following Prairie Farmer on Facebook, or by following Farm Progress Show on Facebook. We're on Twitter too: @hollyspangler and @FPShow, and you can follow along at hashtag #fps13. If you'd like to see the action at home, check out our webcams.

There's some technology for you.
